The 25-year-old is expected to join the squad after he successfully goes through all the COVID-19 and pre-Bio-Secure Environment entry protocols.

“Kagiso Rabada has been medically cleared and will join the Test squad after successfully going through all COVID-19 and pre-Bio-Secure Environment (BSE) entry protocols,” CSA said on Monday.

Rabada had suffered an adductor strain which forced him to miss the third T20I against England at the beginning of the month and the subsequent three-match ODI series against the same opponents.

He, however, missed the start of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka which began on December 26, with the first Test currently underway in its third day.

The second Test is scheduled to take place on January 3-7 at Imperial Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
