“CSA is pleased to announce that the entire Proteas team has returned negative results,” Cricket South Africa (CSA) said.

The testing was prompted by news last week that two members of the Proteas team returned positive COVID-19 results prior to the team’s entry into the Bio-Secure Environment ahead of the start of the series.

The news had raised fears that the series against Sri Lanka would not go ahead bearing in mind that a ODI series against England earlier this month was postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19.

The squad of 17 players, which includes Faf du Plessis, Temba Bavuma and Dean Elgar, will be captained by Quinton de Kock.

The series against Sri Lanka is due to be played from December 26-30 at SuperSport Park in Centurion and January 3-7 at Imperial Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
