Gor Mahia had requested Africa’s football governing body, CAF, to have the game moved forward due to inadequate preparations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The CAF Champions League preliminary fixture (Belouizdad v Gor Mahia) that was to be played tomorrow (Dec 23rd) in Algeria has been pushed to Dec 26th; match to kick off at 10:45pm (Kenyan time), venue remains the same,” Gor Mahia said on its official Twitter account.

The club also revealed its timetable stating that it will arrive in the Algerian capital Algiers through Doha on December 25 having departed the Kenyan capital Nairobi the same day.

After the game, the team will then leave Algiers on December 28 with the intention of arriving back in Kenya on December 29.

Gor Mahia will be hoping to end its run of mixed results against Algerian opposition in CAF’s Interclubs competitions.
