Uganda records 1,809 more cases of COVID-19 with four more deaths from the virus, the ministry of health announced Thursday.
Cases in the East African nation have risen to 139,079 since March last year when the first case was confirmed.
The new cases recorded were out of 8,313 tests done on December 28, according to the ministry.
The number of recoveries stands at 98,379 while the death toll rises to 3,291.
According to data from the ministry, 2,136, 079 tests have been conducted with 11.37 administered across the country.
President Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to address the nation on December 31 on the COVID-19 situation in Uganda and the reopening of the economy that has been under lockdown put in place for the past two years to curb the spread of the virus.
