The Ministry of Health in Kenya has announced 789 new COVID-19 infections, tested from a sample of 5,498 in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry, the new cases which posted a 14.4 positivity rate push the total number of confirmed infections to 220,727 and the total number of samples tested to 2,253,457.
“From the cases 758 are Kenyans while 31 are foreigners. 431 males while 358 are females.” The Ministry said in a statement on Sunday “The youngest is a four-month-old baby while the oldest is 98 years,”
The East African Nation’s capital Nairobi posted the most new infections at 308.
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 1,971 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 9,672 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
There are also some 690 patients separately on supplemental oxygen with 658 of them in general wards and 32 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
Meanwhile, Kenya has reported 1,550 recoveries.
“1,426 were from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 124 are from various health facilities countrywide,” the Ministry said
Total recoveries now stand at 203,922.
