Kenya’s Ministry of Health on Wednesday confirmed 331 new cases of COVID-19 from 4,725 samples tested, bringing the number of confirmed positive infections to 106,801.
The number of samples tested for the diseases had risen to 1,311,326, according to the ministry of health.
New data shows that 54 patients recovered from the virus bringing the total number of recoveries to 86,914.
Currently, there are 403 patients admitted to various health facilities across the country while 1,536 are on home-based isolation and care.
61 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 24 of whom are on ventilatory support and 28 on supplemental oxygen. Nine are on observation, the ministry said.Another 16 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all of them in general wards. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit.
The ministry stated the death toll from the virus had also risen to 1,866 after three more patients succumbed to the virus.Health Cabinet Secretary Senator Mutahi Kagwe this morning received a consignment of 1.2 million doses of Astrazeneca COVID-19 Vaccines, according to the health ministry.
