Close to 2M Nigerians vaccinated against COVID-19

A total of 1,961,883 eligible Nigerians have thus far been inoculated with first dose of COVID-19.

Nigeria’s National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) also reports that 148,258 Nigerians vaccinated with the 1st dose have also received their 2nd COVID-19 dose.

Those who received the first dose more than 6 weeks ago continue to be urged to get the second dose of the vaccine.

President Muhammadu Buhari is among those who got their second jab of AstraZeneca vaccine on May 29.

Nigeria kicked off its vaccination campaign on March 5, starting with healthcare workers mostly at risk of infections.

The country has thus far recorded 167,026 positive coronavirus cases and 2,099 deaths.
