The campaign targets residents aged 18 years and above, and starts with the capital, Kigali as it’s the densely populated zone in the country with the highest infection rate

“Vaccines are being administered at multiple sites across the Kigali districts of Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge. Mobile teams are also moving door to door to vaccinate people with mobility challenges.” The Ministry of Health said.

The ministry earlier said that people who received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in early August will also return to their respective facilities across Kigali for their second doses.

Rwanda plans to vaccinate 30 percent of the population by the end of 2021.
