South African coach Pitso Mosimane will remain in charge of Egyptian giants Al Ahly until at least 2024 after signing a contract extension with the club.
Al Ahly released a statement late on Tuesday saying Mosimane and his assistants had put pen to paper on a new contract in light of his achievements at the club.
Mosimane joined Al Ahly from South African side Mamelodi Sundowns in September 2020 and has enjoyed a successful spell at the Cairo-based club.
The 57-year-old has won the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup twice, the Egyptian Premier League and the Egyptian Cup in addition to securing two third-place finishes at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Ahly defeated rivals Pyramids F.C. 3-0 on Tuesday to go two points clear atop the Egyptian Premier League and maintain their unbeaten start to the league season. Their next assignment is an away fixture against Sundowns in the CAF Champions League in South Africa on Saturday.
