Kenya’s health ministry on Saturday announced that it has recorded 840 new coronavirus cases, raising the country’s total tally to 239,692 cases.
1,237 people have recovered from the disease, 1,104 from Home Based and Isolation Care while 133 are from various health facilities countrywide.
The number of total recoveries is now at 227,274.
Unfortunately, 21 people have succumbed to the disease. Total fatalities from COVID-19 now stand at 4,778.
A total of 2,854,662 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered across the country, 2,043,504 being first doses while 811,158 are second doses.
Kenya also received a donation of 55,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses from the Republic of Latvia on Saturday.
The donation from Latvia brought the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses received in the country to 4,266,500.
